Internship Opportunity: Social Media Intern
America-Italy Society of Philadelphia (AIS-Phila)

Location: Remote (with about 4 in-person events per month in Philadelphia, PA)
Time Commitment: Approximately 10-12 hours per week

The America-Italy Society of Philadelphia (AIS-Phila), a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering cultural friendship and understanding between Italy and the U.S. In addition to offering classes of Italian language at any level, AIS-Phila supports the teaching of Italian in K-12 and organizes cultural events on Italian society, history, art and culture. AIS-Phila is seeking a motivated Social Media Intern to join our team. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management while supporting AIS-Phila mission of promoting Italian culture and language.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic social media plan to enhance AIS-Phila’s online presence.

  • Manage and grow AIS-Phila’s social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok).

  • Create engaging posts and visual content that highlight AIS-Phila’s events, language school programs, and cultural initiatives.

  • Monitor analytics and adjust strategies to improve engagement and reach.

  • Attend and capture highlights from about 4 in-person events per month for live posting and content creation.

Qualifications

  • Current college student majoring or minoring in Italian Studies, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Strong familiarity with Italian language and culture; familiarity with the Italian language is highly desirable.

  • Experience with social media platforms, including content creation and analytics tools.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Creativity and attention to detail in crafting posts and campaigns.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Additional Information

  • The position is primarily remote, with a requirement to attend about 4 in-person events per month in Philadelphia.

  • This internship requires approximately 10-12 hours of work per week.

  • An anticipated compensation of $500 per month.

  • Free enrollment to a language course offered by AIS-Phila with a value of up to $450.

  • In addition, outstanding performance may be recognized with monetary rewards based on results.

  • Initial commitment of three months.
